Being selected as a Student of the Year candidate is a tremendous accomplishment that reflects dedication, academic excellence, leadership, and positive decision-making. To be eligible, students in grades 5, 8, and 12 must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA over the past 2½ years, have no discipline referrals during the current school year, and complete an extensive Student of the Year portfolio. These portfolios will be carefully reviewed as part of the school-level judging process.
School-level winners will advance to the Catahoula Parish competition, with the opportunity to continue to the regional and state levels. The process includes portfolio review, essay writing, and interviews.
Our school winners will be announced Friday!
We are incredibly proud of these students and the hard work, commitment, and positive choices that have brought them to this exciting milestone. Each candidate represents the dedication and Bulldog pride we celebrate at Harrisonburg High School. Congratulations to all of our candidates on this outstanding achievement! Keep making us proud, Bulldogs!
