Artysta zajmuje się różnymi formami grafiki zarówno warsztatowej, jak i użytkowej – projektuje plakaty oraz książki. Jego działalność artystyczna obejmuje również malarstwo, rysunek czy scenografie. Stanisław Wieczorek ukończył studia na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie, na Wydziale Architektury Wnętrz i z tą uczelnią związany jest do dziś. Od 1977 roku prowadził Pracownię Brył i Płaszczyzn na Wydziale Grafiki, a od roku 1980 Pracownię Geometrii i Kompozycji. Kierował Międzywydziałową Pracownię Multimedialnej Kreacji Artystycznej. W swojej karierze pełnił funkcję prodziekana i dziekana Wydziału Grafiki Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie. Ponadto jest twórcą i dyrektorem Instytutu Sztuka Mediów. Współpracował z wieloma wydawnictwami artystycznymi m.in. „Sugestie” czy dwumiesięcznik „Projekt”, włoskie czasopismo „Shop” czy „Linea grafica”. Artysta podejmował niejednokrotnie inicjatywy społeczno–artystyczne. Dzięki jego zaangażowaniu powstało wiele wystaw. Jest również inicjatorem utworzenia Stowarzyszenia Polskich Artystów Grafików Projektantów. Wieczorek jest również autorem kilkudziesięciu wystaw indywidualnych i uczestnikiem kilkuset prezentacji zbiorowych w kraju i za granicą. W 2005 oraz 2014 roku otrzymał medal „Zasłużony Kulturze – Gloria Artist”, nadany przez Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Wystawa została zrealizowana dzięki wsparciu Urzędu Miasta Lublin.
